Our mother Maite was the one who taught us to love gastronomy. She was born in San Sebastián and moved to Barcelona when young.
She took care to make us feel a special bond with her land. Our kitchen follows her steps and we try to make it simple and honest.
We are a casual tavern where we hope you can enjoy both our pintxos and our dishes and dishes.
We have a long bar and a dining area with tables.
Our cuisine is based on Basque cuisine: taverns, cider houses, steakhouses and grandmothers’ recipes inspire us.
Every week we get txistorras from Arbizu, Uitzi cheeses, Ibarra chilli peppers, Navarra vegetables, Lodosa peppers, Beasain black pudding, Ultzama sheep’s milk, Burgos chops, Cal Rovira’s butifarras … they are the basis of our cuisine.
Maitea is much more than pintxos and tapas. We try to make the most of the gifts that nature offers us at every moment.
When the time comes for the peas, the asparagus, the Gernika peppers, the potxas, the wild game meat, the mushrooms … you will find them in our seasonal menu. Download our tapas & dishes menu.
Our beef is aged for 21-33 days for the optimum
succulence and are wood-fired grilled.

includes Rioja, Txakolí, Priorat, cider, sangria …
